PUSH Mod

Introduction to PUSH Mod

Since the day Half-Life 2 released, I’ve wanted to make a Parkour/Freerunning mod. As an avid freerunner myself, I have always wanted to bring that feeling of ‘your movement is limited only by your imagination’ to people through a game. My first attempts at making such a game failed, simply because I had no experience in the modding community, nor did I have a complete understanding of what I wanted to make. Needless to say, the project slipped from my mind.

As I joined up with other mod teams, the last bit of excitement for the idea died away completely. I began to see the enormous amounts of work required to undertake such a project. On top of that, the limited flexibility of game engines makes it even harder to be bring such a vision to life. Between finding people interested, putting together a team, ironing out the concept, and pulling it off in a game, I started looking at it as an insurmountable task. And for four years it’s remained just that. It was a novel idea, but with no real hopes of actually getting done.

Until now, of course. I’ve once again decided to start this project back up, and with four years of modding under my belt, I plan to pull it off. I’ve decided on the Unreal Engine 3 for the game, as I feel it supports the high demand of what I have envisioned. With a little time and a little ambition, I plan to bring you and thousands of others a game they won’t be able to put down.

If you're interested in joining the team, or just want to learn a bit more about the mod, please check out the rest of the website. This is obviously a temporary page for helping people learn more about the mod while I assemble the team. (And find a webmaster.)
